A Sixth Generation Farming Family Committed to Sustainable and High Quality Farming

Dutton Ranch

The Dutton family has been rooted in Sonoma County agriculture since the 1880s. Today, the fourth, fifth, and sixth generations continue that legacy, sustainably farming over 1,400 acres of premium wine grapes and organic apples across the Russian River Valley, Green Valley, and Sonoma Coast appellations. Grown in three of California’s most renowned AVAs, our grapes are highly sought after by some of the state’s most respected wineries.

Dutton Ranch began in 1964, when newlyweds Gail and Warren Dutton settled into a farmhouse just outside the small town of Graton, California — a home that still serves as our main office today. Rooted in the fertile land of Sonoma County, they grew apples and wine grapes, gradually expanding the business with hard work and vision. Warren, a fourth-generation farmer, passed his deep love of agriculture on to his sons, Steve and Joe, who now run Dutton Ranch alongside their mother, Gail. Today, the legacy continues as the sixth generation of Duttons begins to join the family business, keeping the spirit of farming alive for years to come.

Dutton Ranch

Growing up surrounded by layers of vineyards and apple orchards, I recognized not only the hard work of farming but also the values of dedication, patience, and respect for the land. This legacy has instilled in me a commitment to sustainable practices, ensuring that our wines from our vineyards continue to thrive for future generations.

—Kyndall Dutton, Vice President of Business Development

Each bottle of Dutton Estate wine is proudly estate grown, crafted from grapes we farm ourselves at Dutton Ranch. Six generations of the Dutton family have worked this land with care, integrity, and a deep respect for sustainability. Today, we farm over 1,200 acres of premium wine grapes and 200 acres of California Certified Organic Apples, continuing a tradition that began with Gail and Warren Dutton in 1964. From the early days of hand-harvesting apples to the present-day leadership of the sixth generation, every member of our family plays a role in preserving the values and practices that define us. Our wines are more than a product — they are a reflection of our land, our legacy, and our love for what we do. From our family to yours.
