Our past is our future with this wine named for Joe's father, Warren Dutton. Warren was a pioneer of Chardonnay in the Russian River Valley and so we honor his commitment to the land with this wine from our oldest vines. The fruit for this wine is harvested from our original Shop Block Chardonnay vineyard, which was planted in 1967-truly history in a bottle! The vineyard is located on the valley floor of the cool Green Valley region. Dutton Ranch farms more than 80 separate vineyards in the Russian River Valley. This vineyard is certified Sonoma County Sustainably-Farmed and Fish-Friendly.  It is dry-farmed and historically produces grapes of consistent character.

Dutton Palms is crafted with 100% barrel fermentation, and 100% malolactic fermentation, just the way Tracy Dutton likes it. This Chardonnay was aged in once-used French oak, specifically Francois Freres barrels. Although the oak component plays a role in the wine, Green Valley in known for its complexity in Chardonnay, which shines through with Dutton Palms.

Light gold in color, the nose is super expressive with aromas of apple, quince, lemon curd, vanilla, and little cuties. Even a hint of minerality. The aromas follow through to the palate, especially the refreshing apple and cutie notes. The palate also displays the nuanced toast and butterscotch flavors from oak, Kyndall's Reserve is delightful to sip on its own or with a simple supper of citrus marinated chicken or vegetable kabobs studded with pineapple.
