Our Rosé of Pinot Noir is affectionately called Blushing Sisters after Tracy and Joe’s three offspring – Kyndall, Kylie, and Karmen Isabella. The 2019 vintage is the third with the Sonoma County Sustainably Farmed Grapes identifier on the label. This reflects our family’s and our community’s commitment to growing grapes properly to benefit farmers and wine lovers today as well as to ensure future generations have viable businesses. At Dutton Estate, our six generations of farmers have always felt connected to the land and we are proud to lead this initiative with other grape growers.
“This wine is a pale pink color that matches a ballet slipper. This wine dances in the glass with a medley of aromas, peach, melon and fresh strawberry and raspberry spice leap from the rim. The aromas in the glass follow on the palate. White peach flesh and strawberry take the lead as pink grapefruit and cantaloupe follow behind with lycheenut and light earth complexities. This is a bright, crisp Rosé that will hold up to any backyard bbq or pool side chat.”
—Bobby Donnell, Winemaker
Our limited production Blushing Sister’s Rosé of Pinot Noir is havested from Dutton Ranch’s Manzana, Green Valley, Thomas Road, Jewell Block, and La Familia Vineyards in the cool Russian River Valley. This wine is 100% Saignée and a blend of ALL the Dutton Estae PN vineyards. Fresh, expressive pink juice is drawn off the top of just crushed Pinot Noir tanks and fermented separately.
Thomas Road Vineyard was planted to the Dijon 115 clone in 1997. The soil there is diverse with rocky, red clay, and sandy loam. Marty’s Vineyard overlooks the Russian River Valley from its high perch in Green Valley, one of the region’s coolest areas. The rolling hillside of Manzana Vineyard is also cool by virtue of facing east. Kozlowski Family vineyard, also in Green Valley, brings the Pommard clone to the mix. We selected these vineyards from the more than 80 that Dutton Ranch farms for our 2017 vintage. All are certified Sonoma County Sustainably-Farmed and Fish-Friendly vineyards.
